New Rule 42 of the Solicitors Practice Rules came into effect on 1st April 2009, and added a further annual compulsory requirement, which operates in addition to the existing Regulation 176 under the Legal Profession Act and the three-yearly requirement which that regulation imposes.

For present purposes, it can safely be said that almost all solicitors will need to undertake sessions in Ethics, Practice Management, and Professional Skills every year, and a session on Harassment, Discrimination, EEO, and OH&S every three years.
And we shall be offering a further range of such sessions later this year and early next year.
